expat.fyi is a one-person product. Here is exactly what happens to your data — no legalese, no corporate padding.
Your letter
We process your uploaded letter to generate a plain English explanation. We do not store your letter after processing. It is not saved to any database, not shared with any third party, and not used to train AI models.
Session data
We temporarily store a session ID and the generated explanation so we can deliver your result after payment. This data is deleted within 24 hours.
Payment
Payment is handled by Lemon Squeezy, who act as the Merchant of Record. We never see your card details. Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy applies to the payment step.
Your data is not for sale
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not share it with anyone, full stop — except as required to process your payment.
AI models
We use Claude (by Anthropic) to generate explanations. Your documents are not used to train any AI model, by us or by Anthropic.
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to understand basic traffic patterns (page views, country). No personal data is collected. No cookies are set for tracking.
